The screening will be in an upstairs room away from the pub noise but not too far away if you want a drink before it starts. The programme consists of a main feature, a documentary about the nuclear arms race and what it means to the world at this time. This will be followed by a panel discussion broadcast live from BAFTA in London after the film with the films director talking with leading authorities on the subject of nuclear disarmament. This will screen straight after the film and hopefully get people thinking in a more personal way about how the issues in the film relate to them in their daily lives. Afterwards we will have our own discussion so that people in the audience can talk about some of the points raised in the film. It’s an emotive subject and no doubt there will be a lot of people with a lot to say. I hope!
