Are you interested in sponsoring a child but not sure how it can work?

The Cicely Foundation is a UK based charity supporting various young people’s projects in the UK and across the world. Tanzania in sub-Saharan Africa is home to one of these projects called Peace Matunda. Situated in the beautiful rainforest of Mount Meru in the northern part of the country, Peace Matunda is a community project offering free education and a home environment to over 150 children from deprived or vulnerable backgrounds.

The event will play host to the UK screening of A Small Act with a photography exhibition of Tanzania including profiles of children at the project who are in need a chance of sponsorship to see them through education.

There will be opportunities to meet the Cicely team, talk about volunteering in Tanzania and very importantly, options for sponsoring a child there. Every penny of child sponsorship is managed under the Cicely Foundation and goes directly to the project. All operational costs are covered by the Foundation and externally funded. The Peace Matunda ‘Rafiki Fund’ sponsorship programme is unique and a very worthwhile cause to learn more about.

The afternoon’s focus is on having a fun and relaxing time in a beautiful setting overlooking the River Stour whilst learning more about the possibilities of sponsorship. Drinks will be included in the ticket price on arrival but there is also a bar and restaurant on site.

If you are a professional or amateur photographer and have photos of Tanzania or Africa which you would be interested in exhibiting, then please get in touch with Lucy at: lucydevall@cicelyfoundation.com

Proceeds from some of the ticket sales will go to help buy school uniforms for Peace Matunda School in Mount Meru, Tanzania. The more tickets we sell, the more uniforms we can buy!
