BAFTA adds Documentary Category

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts have announced a new Award category to recognise documentary feature films after much lobbying from the film and public spheres.

BAFTA’s Film Committee has chosen to re-introduce this category 'in recognition of the number of high-quality theatrical documentaries released in cinemas in the UK each year.'

The Oscars have a documentary category so its about time that BAFTA followed suit and we look forward to seeing documentary film makers rewarded for their hard work.
